I have a unique opportunity to visit America and Boston (got a visa  :-D ) . So, I would like to know if there are any Amiga related shops in Boston (anything- books, magazines, hardware, software)?

No but the Bostom Computer Museum has an Amiga in it...

There used to be a really cool Amiga shop in Newton Upper Falls called "The Memory Location".  It's where I bought my first Amiga (a used A2000 with A2090A controller and 5.25" MFM drive).  Ah, the memories....

Something close, is the Massachusets Institute of Technology flea market, which occasionaly has people selling Amiga stuff.

Its been few years since I've been there, so check up on dates and such online. I got to visit the user group based there once

South of Boston, there is/used to be (help me out here guys) an Amiga store off route 24 on the way to Bedford Falls.

Unfortunately, as I recently learned, the Boston Computer Museum closed a few years ago :-(

The Museum of Science had some Amigas running a few exhibits last time I was there (1-2 years ago). There was a 3D rendering demo with a 1084 and an A1000 hidden behind some casing.

I remember the Memory Location with great fondness. That place was amazing. Much of my stuff was bought from them. I ordered an RKM from a store in California a few years ago to discover that it still had a Memory Location price tag on it :-)

Hey Matt, speaking of amiga stores, is that guy in Belfast Maine still hawking Amiga stuff? Back in the early 90's, I used to trek from Madison through the back roads to check the latest he had. Got a nice SupraDrive for my old A500 there.

Also, is Amiga Crossing still up?

I'm actually from the Boston area, but I go to school here in Maine. I don't really know the area too well.

Amiga Crossing was in Weld, the last I knew. I haven't been in Maine since 1996, so I've been a little out of touch with the old AUSM gang which was run by the guy who ran Amiga Crossing. It used to be on the main road from Livermore to Portland.

Take a trip up the coast sometime, its worth it. The guy in Belfast had his store in a big old house somewhat off route 1, so you're within easy driving distance of either. Make sure to spend a Saturday or Sunday on Monhegan too, if you're visiting. Grandmas summer home is on Pemaquid Point, so go and see the old fort.

Yeah, The Memory Location was quite the place, it was really a beehive of activity from what I remember back in the early 1990s.  I went there with my brother maybe five times or so, as he was trying to convince me to upgrade from the old C=128 system we had.  Every time we were in awe.  They always had plenty of Amigas running, lying around and cool kit to boot.  I remember picking up a demo of Hired Guns there and being thrilled with that for weeks.

I was in Wellesley/Newton Upper Falls a few years ago and drove by, the building is still there but not even a computer shop anymore.  Ironically, it's all just a memory now.

A very depressing place the last time I visited.  All the Amigas were boxed up, covered, or painted-over so you couldn't tell what they were, with the exception of a single A2000 with a Toaster.  The "active" computers were all prominently displayed with huge manufacturer's advertisements.  Apple had their own room, with appropriate branding everywhere.

*Sigh*  Nobody remembers.  :-(

There used to be a place in Bridgewater where I'd buy all my CD32 software (that I've mostly since sold on ebay).  There was a shop in Swansea as well at one time.
