@amiga4k
Yeah, I would have dearly liked to put it in an A4000, but seeing as how I am having such issue finding parts or let alone buying a fully working A4000, I am left with either not using my toaster, finding a Toaster specifically for A2000 or continuing to wait to find the A4000. Since I have been looking for a working 4000 since July of last year and still have come up with nothing more than a handful of parts, I have decided that A4000's are too expensive for my pocketbook at this time... so my decision is to work with the A2000 I have agreed to buy.
Really, I wanted 3 4000's to do my various projects, but the A2000 will work out nicely for one of them!
That means I still have to find 2 full working A4000's.
The last prices I saw were more than a decent brand new PC by at least 2X, and while I know that these are the going prices for them, I can not pay that, so I must wait until I have enough spare parts to build one or find a heck of a deal for a couple of them.
But, I have already been waiting for over a year for the first one and just can't wait forever, so if the toaster I have can not be utilized, it will probably find its way into a trade or sold for other parts I would like. Or simply stored until the day I can obtain my 4k's :-)
I do appreciate your answer to my post, I have not yet looked at what the inside of the 2k is like. I have more experience with the 1200's and the 4000's.
The funny thing is: When I first saw a brand new Amiga on the showroom floor (circa 1992) I believe it was a 2500 model. That impressed me then, point of fact: I actually was trying to save the money to buy it and Commodore folded before I could do it... hence I got a PC (first one being a Tandy 1000 TX (my bad)). My uncle had a Color Computer 3 (Radio Shack/Tandy also) and I thought it was cool. Back then, BBS was the online experience!
Anyhow, 1995 I was with Macintosh (bought a 7500) coming full circle -- began life on an Apple IIe. I have been professionally working with Windows since 1991 (actually same with Mac) but choose Macintosh currently. If Amiga OS would come to pass, I would probably choose it because I always tend to vote for the underdog. Plus it is nice to come home and use a totally different computer than the one that gives you the headache all day at the office (normally this would be some Windows box).
Anyhow, I will end my novel at this point.
Thanks for the advice and I still have some hope that someone will offer at least one full working 4000 to me soon.
Ebay is not and will never be again an option for me (FYI).
