A3000T Fast slot not working

Well trying to get my 3000T running again it seems the CPU slot does not work.  I had a CSMK2 in it and system would not boot, I tore it apart to reseat the card (had to do that a few times in the past to get it to boot)  This time it does not work.  If I remove the card it boots to the onboard 030 fine.  I suspected the MK2 was defective, so I installed it in a 4000 today and it works fine.  I tried to clean the cpu slot with sand paper in slit and no go.  Anything else I can do?  I tried to see if my A3640 would work but it seems I am missing a chip: 74F08N.  Gonna order it and see if I can get that 040 working in it...

My A3000T also has the onboard 68030 like yours (Some A3000T-040's did not).

When I changed mine over to use a rev 3.2 A3640 board in the fast slot I remember changing some jumpers to get it to work, and also adding the 74F08N (there is another jumper for that if it's installed as I remember). I don't think the fast slot will work without these jumper changes.  The National Amiga Technical pages was the source of this information for me as I remember. I'll try to dig it up if you need it.

Sorry if you know this and have tried it already.  PS I also had to upgrade my Roms and make sure the memory was all static column if I'm thinking clearly (this was over 10 years ago :-D)

I also ordered the 74F08 chip today so I can get my 040 working in it.

So can Fast Slots go bad?
