dce cd-rom adaptor problem
« on: August 12, 2006, 11:42:52 AM »
gday all,
I purchased a dce cd-rom adaptor which is basically a 4 way ide buffer interface.
When I tried it by plugging the the cable off the board to the first 2.5 connector then ran a cable from the 2nd connector to my 2.5 hd the a1200 wont boot.
Just the power light is on and nothing on screen their is a silver dot on one end of the connector pins so I am assuming this means pin 1.
If I remove the buffer and connect hd normally everything is okay,I cant seem to find any documentation on installing and it seems a simple plug and use interface any ideas thanks.

Your computer should boot.
Check your connections again.
If they are ok, your adapter is probably defective...

gday thanks for the reply,
Pin 1 for the 3.5 connector was not labelled correctly turned ribbon around and everything was okay.
I am having trouble with the cd32 emulator part of idefix97 though,Idid a novice install because I am.
When Iput a cd32 game in it reads the disk in workbench but wont boot of it to run the game saying cd1 is not a dos disk.I dont know if the settings are corrct or because it is a demo version of idefix it wont work properly unless registered thanks.
