DMS.. "erroring", sort of.. [solved]
« on: August 01, 2006, 05:41:25 AM »
Well, this has been an all-day project getting SCSI drivers created from a downloaded DMS file, lol..

I have tried (originally) DMS 1.03, then 1.11, and just now 1.52a and every time I get an error.  Have initilized the floppy prior to, and also even used disks that had stuff on them (to try and mix it up, try everything!!).

It seems to go through the 80 tracks just fine.  After that, it reports some findings, time it took, rate, etc..  And then the AmigaDOS puts up an error box saying:

Not a DOS disk
in unit 0
retry      cancel

the CLI once I click cancel (because rety gets me nowhere) then says "Can't open input file df0:.DMS ."
          "Fatal Error!"

At first, I was thinking the error was 'normal', you know, because a disk is "magically" going from being empty, to being an actual full disk, and it was removed/reinserted.  But rebooting off the disk gives me an error during the boot process, which I'm sure is because of this dms fiasco.

The commandline stuff I type to do this is:

dms write gvp.dms df0:

Help??  As always, thanks for your assistance (and patience).

EDIT::  I also tried the DMS test which passes, btw - Just to throw that out there :)

EDIT2: I swear - I find the problem to so many things AFTER I post..  In this case, adding "TO" in front of the df0: works...  Go figgr.
