US Robotics Modem on Linux
« on: May 15, 2003, 04:20:47 PM »
I am thinking about buying a US Robotics 56k V92 Fax/Voice Modem as I understand that it is one of the best, however can someone verify that it is compatible with any version of Linux (Except Morphix cos that don't work on my system, i get graphics trashing) and preferably Mandrake 9.1
I think it does being external serial type, but I just want to check
Thanks Guys

Hi,

I currently have a USR Courier connected to my Linux box and it works fine. If the modem is external, you shouldn't have any problems. You just need to be careful about internal ones ie winmodems.

Basically, I have had this modem coming onto 10 years, used it on a number of my Amigas and a few Windoze boxen as well.

Hope that helps.
