Problem installing OS3.9 on an A1200 with a CF memory card
« on: July 06, 2006, 09:23:04 PM »
I have a problem...

I am trying to install OS3.9 on my desktop a1200.  It only has 4MB fast ram installed at the moment and an 'internal' cdrom using IDEFIX97.  I am using a CF memory card as the harddrive which may be the source of my problems.
I did previously have Workbench 3.1 installed on the CF with the cdrom also working without a problem...

I have created my OS3.9 emergency bootdisk with idefix included.  When booting from this disk, the cdrom works ok.  However shortly afterwards i get an error:

DH0
Program Failed (error #80000003).
Wait for disk activity to finish.

With the options to 'suspend' or 'reboot'

Any ideas?

When you had it working with 3.1 on the CF, did you have IDEFix installed and running ?
I've read a couple of people on here saying IDEFix is incompatible with CF cards, dunno how true it is.

Edit.. I *really* should read more carefully!!
Since it worked with 3.1 and IDEFix, then the likely culprit is somehow the startup sequence is still telling Setpatch to load the new scsi.device

Just to make sure, edit s:startup-sequence and make sure any mention of Setpatch says C:SetPatch QUIET SKIPROMUPDATES "scsi.device"
On schedule, and suing
