IBrowse layout problem

Often lists look vertical like this.  Surely it should be horizontal, thus taking up a fraction of the space.
eBay searches do the same thing with the page numbers at the bottom.
Is there a pref or combination of prefs which deals with this?

i bet it's a CSS thing, which IBrowse doesn't handle yet, yes?
