Terminal Program for Amiga
« on: June 22, 2006, 09:44:48 PM »
Hello:

As some of you know, one of my pet projects is to put a BBS back online for prosterity (excuse spelling error).

Anyhow, I am looking for a good terminal program along the lines of PCPLUS for DOS/Windows level for Amiga.  It really needs to support ANSI-BBS and the normal VT terminal modes.. be nice to have good protocols too, Zmodem, Xmodem, etc.

Any recommendations?  And if the software is not on AMINET, please provide link.

Thanks,

Term did all that stuff didn't it?  There was nothing that compared to it back in the day, except for Terminus, but I upgraded once I had enough RAM for Term. :)  Those were the days!

I was always partial to NComm myself...  It might be on Aminet.

Thanks guys.

Found Term 3.0 out on AmiNET and I think I also saw NComm 306 but the readme said that the version 3.0 and on was "crippled" and you had to get the real download from the author, and of course, in a Google Search, I found no place for support to do that, so I will try Term.

Thanks again.

Geez, you can still register CNET :-)

There is a free key file for NComm 3.0 on Aminet, too.

Bye,
Thomas

Where?  I've asked a few times and got no pricing.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

@adolescent

I had to talk to the current owner on the forums chat when the guy is actually on line.  Then it's email and paypal.

JRComm I used for a lot of years... Then, yeah, Terminus and Term.  Though NComm was also out there...

Term should do the trick, it's a great program which I still use every now and then for transfering files between an old pc with Telemate installed (another great program) and one of my Amigas.
Life sucks. Then you die. Then they throw mud in your face. Then you get eaten by worms. Be happy it happens in that order... My Amiga 1200

I used ACall 5.0 back in those days - no idea, where you can get it nowadays...
