DCE Flicker Magic
« on: June 16, 2006, 09:58:30 PM »
I have one of these but the small PCB with the two wires attached has become rather dodgy.

Does anyone know which pins on the Alice chip the small boards connects to?

Yes, there was another thread about this, it's something I've performed myself.
I'm assuming you have the A1200 version, if it's the A4000 version, confirm this with someone else.

If you have the board with Alice near you (PCMCIA slot to the left) the wires go on the left hand side of the chip, red goes to the 5th pin down, plain to the 7th.

I wanna get rid of the board, and have a suitable socket for it already (the one on the small PCB is broken at two places).

@lurkist

Have totally overlooked your post for some reason. Thanks for the info, seems like it is the same scandoubler we are using.

Unfortunately, the previous owner of my scandoubler has fiddled around with the wires, and replaced them at some point (did a really {bleep}ty job at it unfortunately), so can you tell me to which hole on the scandoubler your red wire is connected to? (the hole towards the back of the motherboard, or the hole towards the front).

Okay, the top one goes to pin 7, the bottom one to pin 5, like this-

Thank you very much. I just soldered the wires according to the picture in the link, and it is working as it should. Furthermore got my BMON switcher installed, so now my A1200T is almost finished :-) (need an aktive mixer, better cooling and new cables)

Oh yes, the extremely common P4, not to mention the even easier to find Zorro busboard, and don't forget the highly available video enabler...

@Laser

I might live in the primates times, but at least I can talk civilised to other people.
