Picasso96 and Pixel64 Freezing/Crashing
« on: June 25, 2006, 08:23:21 PM »
I have had my Pixel64 running with picasso96 on 800x600 and higher resolutions fine for the past week or so.

Then one day the Amiga crashes to a black screen.

I reboot and it seems the screenmode has messed up as I get no output on my monitor, so I go back to PAL TV mode and uninstall then reinstall picasso96.

Now everytime I click on picasso96prefs the Amiga freezes and when I go into screenmodes and click test for a Pixel64 screenmode it freezes.

Any ideas?

If you have a spare partition you could try doing a fresh install of the OS + P96 - see if that works.

Also, try running Picasso96prefs to make sure it still recognises the Pixel64.

Obvious things:
Try lower resolutions and 8-bit modes.
Check all the cables and everything are still secure - including the -12V wire.
Try removing and replacing the Pixel64 card.
Are the ateo libraries still present in libs: ?
Check there isn't a loose screw under the busboard shorting out connectors.
Is the "c:startateobus" NOREBOOT command still in your startup sequence?

I know they're obvious things, but it never hurts to double check.
