Use external datatypes in AWeb and speedup AWeb
« on: June 16, 2006, 08:58:50 PM »
Have been using IBrowse as my main browser on my Amiga´s for 99% of the time because I have always thought AWeb is so damn slow.
Have never figured out how to use my WarpDT PPC image datatypes with AWeb so I wonder if someone here could help me with that and also give me tips on how to set AWeb up so it can be quite usable.
Have heard people who think AWeb is better than IBrowse so they must have done something right :D

With my best respect for the AWeb Team, forget it!

Even on MOS for PowerUP, Ibrowse still the faster amiga browser. (compared to AWeb MOS native)

About the Warp datatype, you will not gain anything (picture.datatype still 68K, without speaking of context-switches) and you will lose animated gifs as well.

On 1Ghz machines (AOne and Peg) its another story even if i have some doubts about the use of datatypes even there.

EDIT- are you using "Internal" decoding or "Plugins"? because Aweb as "Internal" uses datatypes.
