Setting up the AteoBus and Pixel 64
« on: June 13, 2006, 03:50:23 PM »
Hi, I recieved my Ateo busboard today.

I have managed to get it all set up hardware wise basically except for a few glitches.

What do I attach to the white connector on the busboard?
EDIT: Turns out im missing the power connector :(

Does the blue wire go to a flat piece of metal (JP1 I think)?

Also does anyone have any ideas as to how I should mount the busboard inside the infintiv case?

The backplates are sideways on the infinitiv so the only option is to mount the busboard on the side panel of the case. Which isnt realistic. The other option is to just mount it on the bottom of the case and pull the wire for the monitor through a large backpanel and actually put it inside the case. This is the option im going to use for the timebeing.

Anyway so far I have it nearly all attached and my accelerator is working fine attached to the adapter board, except it wouldnt fit without removing the fan so its just a heatsink with a loose fan I can probably squeeze in somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,  :-D

Ok now Im thinking that I dont need the power connector as that is for Ateo towers.

I have a pc monitor attached to the pixel 64 and I have installed picasso96, ateostart, pixel64

I turn the amiga on and the monitor blinks on, I try and edit the screenmode using the picasso96 prefs but it says out of memory but even when it does work the screen is too big for the TV so I cant read the whole form.

I cannot work out how to do all this....

EDIT: Ok I booted up with a monitor attached to the pixel64, changed the screenmode to picasso96 800x600 PC and rebooted......on monitor flicks on saying signal out of range and then cable not connected.

Did you run the Picasso96 installer a second time and pick a suitable monitor?
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

It turns out the busboard uses a AT psu cable and I have an 8pin Micronik one.

I need an adapter or a way to change the cable head to AT

EDIT: just bought a Micronik 8pin to AT cable from AmigaKit

Hello.

I have just seen your MP :-)

So you have an Ateobus but your are not a french amiga user?

You need to plug the P8 and P9 AT connector on the white connector. This must be done so the BLACK WIRES are all in the middle and not on the border, be careful!

The blue wire must be plugged on a small pin connector next to the white connector. However, the whole thing shouldwork without this wire, as it is only needed for -12v.

Don't forget you need too to power the motherboard through the floppy power connector.

About mounting the bus in the tower, it is made for the Ateo Tower 1200 (it has vertical backplates). In order to use another tower kit, you have to do some hacking yourself.

Be sure to install all the hardware correctly before bothering to install any ateo software, as strangest things might happen then :-D
