I might be asking silly questions here but you have a hard drive right?So do you have the libs installed?

so far the prob is that:

 ''when I boot up I get a software error and the computer will never come up. I tried removing the 64MB RAM and got the same error. The computer boots up fine with the card removed.''

the libs have nothing to do with this. maybe later...

The a500 power supply is a bit more powerful than the a1200 one, but i doubt it is still enough for such a accelrator+hd. So i think you should invest in a AT psu+convertor so that you can use it with your a1200.

Ok, it's working like a charm!

In my haste to get my A1200 up and running with this great new card, I did not install the software from the floppy disk supplied by AmigaKit.com first.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.  Now it's playtime!  :)
