The "Loading" keyword...
« on: March 10, 2006, 03:40:15 PM »
I was sitting here at work thinking.. I see alot of the "Loading" keyword on Windows... eg. when Online Help is selected it puts a window up which says "Loading"  .. u think this was derived from Commodore's use of the word?  Which other company used that to let the user know something was 'loading' ?

AFAIK It comes from way before then. it was a phrase commonly used by computer engineers who used to have to manually 'load' vast reams of paper punch cards comtaining programs into computers in the 40's and 50's...
