Lunar eclipse tonight
« on: March 14, 2006, 11:40:15 AM »
Tonight, March 14, a lunar eclipse will occur.
The Moon will enter the Earth's outer shadow, known as the penumbra
See Image

Mid eclipse occurs at 23:48 GMT.

The effects will be subtle; the lowermost portion of the Moon should appear darker or redder.
Europe, Africa and the western third of Asia are in the best position for this event.
