Vroom! - OS4 JIT

I just got Update 4 installed on my A1 and I have to say I'm VERY impressed with the speed boost the JIT emulator gives to IBrowse. Puts my PC to shame.

Now I know what MorphOS users have been enjoying for so long :-)

I am envious.  I would hope that OS4 would be better though ;-)

i for one am DEFINATLEY buying an a1 and os4 as soon as it's ready and hardware is available. im very impressed with hyperions efforts.

I am one of those people who believe the amiga can topple M$
i just hope to see the day that comes around.
imagine retailers and computer stores stocking and selling amiga once again! what a dream!
well we CAN make that happen it's just a matter of time.

It's a dream. Amiga only makes gambling games for PDA's.
AmigaOS4. great, but no available hardware to run it on. You would think almost that they don't want to sell it...
(Which would be a crazy business idea... although crazy is not unusual for the Amiga world)

Indeed, I think every Amiga freak must be at least a little bit crazy to believe in such an old hardware  :lol: But on the other hand I am one of those crazy freaks  :laughing: I do have got a fast pc like most people here but somehow the Amiga hardware AND software give you a totally different feeling than any Microsoft Windows on the market. Though I use my pc for internet and filedownloading I am sure I shall buy an original OS4 (not a cracked one) when it comes out for A4000 PPC and A1200 PPC !! You can take my word on that  :rtfm:

Some benchmarks from the IOBench plugin for fxPaint:

I/O: Loading picture:      0,06 sec
I/O: Saving picture:       0,16 sec
F/X: Zoom blur:            5,68 sec
F/X: Waves:               82,73 sec
F/X: Lightsource:          3,82 sec
F/X: Pixelise:             0,89 sec
MEM: Byte fill 100:        0,22 sec
DRW: Ellipse 'Silent':     1,80 sec
DRW: Lines 'Silent':       0,64 sec

These are results on my XEG4. Anyone got anything to compare to?
