Powersocket pinouts for A1200?
« on: February 01, 2006, 07:48:31 PM »
Hi folks,

any one able to pass on info on the power connector into the A1200? I seem to be having problems with a dodgy connection (I'm not using the standard CBM power unit (which pased away some time ago) but a bigger unit) and I think it is the actual connector on the main board, cause every time I wiggle the power lead sometimes the HD light doesn't come on then sometimes it just flickers and doesnt sound as if the HD is liking power fluctuations. I am hoping to bypass the connector and then hardwire power into the A1200, but I can't seem to find any pinout info.

Is it the same as the A500?

many thanks, Ian

Yes it is the same as the A500 PSU. If you have one the pinout is on the back of it. Otherwise I can send you one.

--EDIT
That is, I can send you a pinout, not a PSU :-)

OK,
so I have located my A500 psu and noted down pinout info.

Now can anyone identify the type (and a possible source) of pcb power supply connector, preferably a UK stockist if possible. Since I've now decided to try to replace the on-board p[ower connector rather than wire power directt to the pcb.

I've scanned the Maplin catalogue without much success, thanks, Ian.

Maplin definitely sell them. Search their web site for L69AZ and it will bring up the male and female connectors. I can't remember which is which though.

Some random stuff i found at www.elfa.se(ships in europe):

http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/dyndok.pl?lang=en&dok=10391.htm
or
http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/dyndok.pl?lang=en&dok=8845.htm

If you know the exact name for the connector you are looking for try searching at their page.

Your feedback helps,

I was hoping (really) to find an exact same replacement for the CBM square 5 pin power connector - I guess not. So you have given me a few ideas, thanks,

Ian.
