Wow odin, I never knew that.  Hmmmmm....

Well if it doesn't go much higher I'll still buy it but if that other guy continues to bid-war with me I may look elsewhere.  It does appear to be a very nice machine though and the extras with it are nice.

I guess we'll just see...

@Oliver

In my state of Indiana, you used to be able learners permit at age 15.  The legal driving age is 16 , but up to a certain time of the day. You do anything to screw up you lose your privledges until you are 18. You can get your license at 16, but only if you are enrolled in school.  If you aren't you have to wait until 18.

@Legerdemain

That's not called frenzy.  To me that just a plain out bidding war.  Not really something I would have done so early in the game of the auction.  I know that some people usually bid so high that come the end of the auction they find out that they have other bills to pay and end up retracting their bids.  What's really worse is if your set a proxy bid, some guy fights to beat your proxy, wins then shows up as a non paying bidder.  I usually end up getting some shady deal on that, that they will only accept the proxy bid as a second chance.  As much as I would like those items, I still feel in my heart these people are trying to shill swindle me.

@Odin

Ah, but I know that there aren't that many Apple IIgs that has Steve Woz's name though. :-D

@Drewz21

5 days left and you pulled out the guns already... Now he is probably scanning the people you got feedback from to try to read what kind of stuff they sell. Yeah that's a very good way to scope out the interests of your competition. That's why I used to eSnipe when I could.

Damn I have a nice mint A1000 here with original keyboard and mouse, with Starboard II 2MB, Supra 4X4 30MB HD, Amiga 1080 monitor, and Amiga 1010 drive, all in minty new shape!

Ony paid $20 for the A1000 itself.  All in all I paid about $150 for this whole setup but thats seperate parts.

Great buy, but when did you purchase it?  I'm guessing that it was not before 1990 to 1992.  I could have bought a new A500 around the same time I bought my A1000, but the A1000 was so much better looking and had color composite out, which the A500 doesn't.  It would have been cheaper in the long run to get the A500, but I don't regret my decision.  I eventually moved on to the A2000 that satisfied me for a long time with an 030/scsi/bridgeboard/DCTV, etc.  I spent over $3,000.00 just on software and those hardware add-ons for that A2000 when I first got it.  It has just recently been brought back to life with an 060 after years of sitting in storage.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

I've still got the original A1000 I bought new in 1986 or so. It's now in the original box. :-) I couuld probably find the original sales reciept.
I need to replace that floppy drive though. I found another machine at the Goodwill for $7 (!) many years later, but I couldn't bring myself to gut it for parts.

my first amiga was an a1000 with an insider 1meg card. i bought it for 30usd i think. my second was an a1000 that was given to me. that was over 10yrs ago though, collectors value seems to have gone up a bit since then.
i would love to have a 1000 again but i wouldnt pay that much for one.
