ASPI problems when running WINUAE
« on: March 06, 2006, 09:10:33 AM »
Hello!

When starting WINUAE 1.2 I get an ASPI error, which, (I suppose) is why I can´t access my CD player in my OS3.9 under WINUAE. How do I point WINUAE to the ASPI driver I want it to use? and what ASPI driver should I use?

.
Resetting frame rate hack
ASPI: driver location 'WNASPI32'
ASPI: failed to load wnaspi32.dll
support_scsi = 0 support_ioctl = 0
reset at 0

.
.

Thanks in advance!

On the Misc page you can choose between Nero ASPI, Adaptec ASPI and SPTI. Unless you want to use scanners and ZIP drives, you should choose SPTI.

Bye,
Thomas

Hello!

Ok, I got the OS to see the CD I put in my CD-Player. But I get errors when reading from them. I have read somewhere that I should set the max transfer rate to something. Where do I do this? and to what value?

Open Devs/DosDrivers on your boot drive and look for CD0 or EMERGENCY_CD or anything like this. Drag the icon onto EditPad on the dock bar. Check if there is a line reading MaxTransfer = something. If there is one, change it to MaxTransfer = 0xfe00. If there is none, add it.

Bye,
Thomas
