IOMEGA zip drive 250 vs. The Mighty AMIGA!
« on: January 25, 2006, 12:26:19 AM »
Can anyone explain what I need to do to access the above drive on my A1200. I am using this interface, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8253851427&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:11

I have an A1200 with a BLIZZARD 1230-IV ACCELERATOR w/64MB RAM 68030 @ 50Mhz.

I am using an IOMEGA 250 Parallel Zipdrive.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8753174229&ssPageName=ADME:B:BCA:UK:11

I cannot understand what I am doing wrong, I think I have tried everything.

Many thanks

Gavin. :-?

Hi Gavin.

I actually put one of those together from scratch, and used the driver from Aminet.

I got it to work, so as long you have the files in the correct directories, it'll work.

Either that, or a connection has come loose inside the box. If you can open it up without breaking anything, take a look.

Try downloading ppazip.lha from the internet and trying it's drivers. That disk you got might have corrupted driver files.

Good luck.

Looks like you got the drive for a great price.  The interface looks kind of cool also.  I hope you get it to work OK.  I've got a SCSI 100 ZipPlus that works fine off my SCSI adapter but my ZIP 250 was always problematic.  I saw the drive and formatted it just fine but could never access it properly.

You might find a friend with at standard Zip 100 parallel and give that a try. I think the 250 model you have might have been  a bit buggy.

Thanks for your help everyone. I purchased an IOMEGA zip 100 from ebay for £3 so ill give that a try as this is what the interface is for anyway. Ill use the other on the PC to transfer files over. I just thought that the 250 model would work regardless.

Again thanks for all the help.

Gavin.
