Is this a viable Multisync for Amiga users?
« on: December 28, 2005, 08:01:27 AM »
MicroVitec has this Deskscan 1402 monitor in their catalogue. I was wondering if any Amiga users in the UK have used one of these 14 inch monitors with their Amiga.

Does it work? It appears to meet the requirements for a true Amiga multisync monitor. If it does work, why have I never seen this offered by any online Amiga retailers? It's an obvious replacement option for a 1960/1950 user if it works... (the specs imply to me that it does)

I realise that 800x600 might not be good enough for some people, but wouldn't this be a great solution for the average Amiga user out there who isn't running all the newest hardware? (Probably also need an RGB->SVGA adapter for everything but 3000's)

Specs at a glance:

Category :     Desk-Scan
Format :   Plastic case with tilt & swivel
Model :   Desk-Scan 1402
Part number :    14VC4CLV2
Screen size :   14"
Max resolution :    800x600
Dot pitch  :   0.28mm
Horizontal frequency :   15-40kHz
Vertical frequency range :    45-90Hz
User controls :   Brightness,Contrast,Horizontal position,Vertical position
Input voltage :    90-265V,50-60Hz

The input voltage also says to me that it works in NTSC or PAL regions.

Yess it would work on the amiga,

You also could check the www.efunzine.com site because the amiga is still active in Poland. Maybe they have that kind of monitor in stock.

Still have my own microvitec monitor for the 500 and a original CMD 1084.
