Monitor settings and speed
« on: December 15, 2005, 10:49:11 AM »
  Hi.
I have a BVision card and i would like to know if the settings of the cgxmode program (horizontal/vertical timings, pixelclock, etc) has an impact on the speed of my gfx card. It's obvious that the screen resolution itself affects speed greatly, so i'm not asking about that.
If they have, how do i change them to obtain maximum performance? I don't mind about flickering and the hardware limitations of my monitor.

Both frequencies and resoluton should not affect performance. Of course higher resolutions need more memory and transferring more memory needs more time. But line-drawing performance and window refresh times should not be affected (given that the windows have the same size on both resolutions).

Bye,
