A2000 + PicassoII + P96 + OS3.9 = constant reboot
« on: December 15, 2005, 05:09:11 AM »
This is a weird one. Here's my configuration.
Amiga 2000
Blizzard 2060 68060/50 with 64 MB fast RAM
Commodore A2320
Picasso II+
Hydra AmigaNet NIC
Quantum 2GB SCSI hard disk

Here's what happens. When I install OS 3.1 cleanly then install Picasso96, everything seems to work great! I get all my graphics modes and the display looks great.

However, when I install OS 3.9 by booting off an Emergency Boot disk and install Picasso96, the machine goes into a constant reboot. In other words, the computer tries to boot but the power LED flashes ~6 times and the system reboots. The cycle continues until I turn off the A2K. In both cases I format the hard disk before installing. The disk is partitioned 500 MB and 1.5 GB. I am at a total loss here! Any suggestions are welcome!

By the way, I have not done a 3.1 > 3.9 upgrade yet. I may try this tomorrow but I would prefer to perform a clean install.

Thanks in advance,
Gary
