Hello,

I have the same boot problem with my A4000T.  I believe it may have something to do with the time it takes the hard drives to spin up after a cold boot, but I'm not certain.

The keyboard question sounds like you have the wrong keymap seleced.  You can change this in the input prefs folder.  The British keyboard has the @ and " symbols switched among other minor differences from the American keyboard.

My A1200 reboots shortly after first switched on, I think it's SetPatch that does it, but it could be something different in your setup.

Yeah. If you're using 3.5 or 3.9, it has to softkick the ROM update, requiring a reboot.

Idefix, PrepareEmul, SoftSCSI, among other things, can be set to reset resident during bootup.

Well my A1200 with a Apollo 060-50Mhz reboots 2 times at startup and shows a pretty rainbow effect for a very brief moment. I´m running WB3.1 and i know that one reboot is for Fusion( actually it´s the shapeshifter boot thingy the fusionone didn´t work with my setup).
But why the other reboot is it because of the apollo or idefix?
And the rainbow must be because of the apollo, but what is it?
Apple did it right the first time, bring back the Newton!

The reboot with the rainbow effect on my machine is caused by OxyPatcher.  Could you be running that?

Something to do with the 060 and the 1200, I believe. My Blizzard does that too. If it's not supposed to, then... erm... I have a problem on my hands.  :-)

The household CyberStormPPC/060 doesn't flicker, but I just might not be seeing it because the PicassoIV's video passthrough hasn't kicked in yet.

Any reported 040s rainbow-ing?

As I recall, All accell,s, erm, most, remap KS to FAST. however only after I installed 3.5 did I get an extra boot. After OxyPatcher another one. After repulse another one. Guess it goes that way for an old over expanded wonder.

Chris

PS: The rainbow is a sign that the accel has taken over the machine.

Everyone who uses an apollo accelerator would be wise to install remapollo (from aminet, go find it yourself). It can softkick 3.1 to 3.9 in one go (softkick and patch in one reboot). It also supports a lot of the other patches people use, so should never be any need to reboot more than once on first bootup (which takes about 5 seconds on my 1240@40)
