Pulling apart three A1000's I recently got, and trying to combine the various expansions they have with my old one.
In one, I found a little piggyback card on one of the CIA chips. The underside has "ICD Inc, Copr 1991" and "EXT-0 OPTION [A]" silkscreened on it. The top side has two jumpers, "SFT" and "DIS". It was plugged into the U6P socket on the board, with the original 8520R2 (dated 3085) piggybacked on it.
I noticed the other CIA chip, U6N, was replaced with one dated from '91. No suprise there, I've blown a few myself over the ages.
But I've searched for this ICD board and have come up empty. Anyone have any ideas, before I go pulling my stack of Amiga World and Amazing Computing magazines out?
Also, does anyone have info on whether the Rev 6 or Rev A motherboards are better? We had to do all sorts of hacks to our Rev A board (and daughterboard) years ago, to get enough juice to run the HD on the side slot. It's newer, but apparently "cheaper," so I wonder if Rev 6 might actually be better?
Thanks in advance. I'll be pulling the Rejuvinator and DKB Insider from the other two in the meantime.
