Joystick cables
« on: October 31, 2005, 11:35:07 AM »
I've got some joysticks that are broken. I measured the cables and some of the wires are broken resulting in some directions not working.

Is it possible to buy the cables somewhere?
I found this shop:

But they don't answer their mail...

I'd use UDP Ethernet cable, it has more than enough wires; you need 4+1+1 (+1 for autofire) and ethernet has 8 IIRC. UTP cable is very cheap, good quality. just be sure to look for type in which every wire has a lot of small wires (can't remember word maybe stranded) because it will be more flexible (its not meant to be moved a lot)

I could build a cable using parts from a local electronics shop but I'd like it not to look homemade. I like the black cables with the connectors. Problem is that you can't open them as they are plastic moulded.
