Racer for OS4?

Check it! It  should be a nice game for OS4, and it is open source. There is an linux and MacOSx version already.

Very nice game. I wonder what kind of GFX engine it uses? (This might raise some troubles if it's not something easily portable) Hope it's OpenGL or something.

It's OpenGL - dunno about the rest but that should be easily portable at least.

As explained several times before, concerning Racer: There is no source-code available, so it cannot be ported. Racer is freeware, but not OpenSource. As a Linux and MacOS X version exist it will probably use OpenGL, though..

There will be a (commercial) racing game for OS 4, though. It is called "Midnight Racing" and you find more information about it at www.hyperion-entertainment.com (recent News) and www.incagold.com (about the Windows version). Further Games from IncaGold will also get ported (they have especially several nice Racing Games, but also games from other genres) after Midnight Racing is finished.

While a racer would be nice and all, All i hope for is that Slamtilt Ressurection is coming to OS4 also  :-)

forget about the lame slamtilt sequel, its horrible and its not made by liquid designs and its not a good title at all..

try it before u mention it again.



as for racer , well its a nice game allright but if there is no source for the public....how do u expect it to arrive on aos ?

I agree i downloaded this a few days ago and its included in some linux distributions  its a good fun game with loads of cars and tracks to download .maybe someone can get the source from him for os 4  ?

It is not fully open-source but you can ask for source if you make an Amiga version

ermmm well as i had no idea the game existed until the Hyperion announcement, i havent played it and went on name alone, a simple the games crap would be OK  :roll:
