A1200 problems!!!
« on: October 11, 2005, 11:03:51 AM »
I just bought a A1200, and the delivery was very fast, now there is only one problem, it reboots constantly.

The strange part is, I don't get any error messages. All I get is that the power LED blinks 6 times, then the machine reboots.

Does anybody know what the problem might be?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Does it have a ram expansion or battery backed clock installed in the expansion slot? If so, it sounds like the metal shielding is grounding on part of the card. Bend the shielding back towards the center of the keyboard just a little with your fingers so that it's not contacting anything.

Had the same problem and it was shielding related.

No expansions, but checked just to be sure that there was no shorts. But the problem remains.

I was a bit unclear in my first post, I just realised.
The machine actualy boots, but it seems that something gets hot and forces the machine to reboot.
Any ideas???
It's driving me mad... :-P

Try to hold both mouse buttons during start, maybe is hd inside, and amiga wan't boot without any memory exp.
Also you can wait in boot-menu to see if amiga will freeze.
