Original A1200 Floppy Problem...
« on: October 11, 2005, 10:52:29 PM »
Hi guys,

I have searched the whole Forum for help... but have come to a stump...

1.) this is the Original Floppy that came with my A1200 that I have had for the past 12 yrs... it wasn't in use for ca. 11 yrs...

2.) it is not receiving the RDY signal, as a DiskChange command will allow it to use the Floppies I insert...

3.) any other Amiga drive will function correctly... ie. the A600 FB354 Chinon, or the Panasonic JU-253 out of my 1581 External Drive... so it is not a Cable prob...

I hope someone could give me some insightful information pertaining to this problem... thank you...

Nope, cuz, when I rejumper the drive as a PC drive, it works...

but nevermind.... I found out what the prob is...

this isn't my original drive... LOL... but a same build...

it is a Chinon FZ357 alright, but without the A and it has a LED on it, that I am sure, NO internal A1200 had... boy, am I embarassed...

Sorry, to have bothered you guys...

Now I got to figure out how I can get that Drive to work as a HD drive for the A1200...

My system has been in a PC case for nearly 12 yrs. and I had the Real Floppy Fix with a Panasonic Drive... but I changed the Case and the Panasonic drive would not fit but my Chinon does... go figure... oh well...
