Ok it seems that my bulldog took a liking to my 3com Etherlink III (3C589C) dongle. Well it was that or they had some bad blood between them and she was looking to settle the score. Either way I am now lacking a dongle.
I am hoping someone has a spare (or a leftover from a non-functioning 3com etherlink III) that they just haven't got the heart to throw away.
If you have one you'd like to "donate" I'd be happy to pay shipping. I know I can get a full PCMCIA card/dongle set from ebay really cheap. I just hate to waste a working pcmcia card (by waste I mean have lying around my basement).
I'd be happy to trade someone a USR PCMCIA X-jack 33.6 Modem (sure I'd trade it, G-d knows I couldn't get squat for it one ebay). The only good thing about this modem is that it's X-jack (no dongle needed), and that it has been recognized by every laptop I've ever stuck it in (wow that sounds dirty).
