I'm pretty sure that's the same SD/FF that I got from them about 2 years ago.  Never had a problem with it.

The instructions were naff, but people on here helped me install it.

Naff picture, but you can see the cardboard beneath the power connectors on the left, that's connected (by a small grey wire) to the PCB just below the small ribbon cable (which is connected to it).  That's the SD/FF.

I'll have to upload a better picture sometime.

OK, just got an E0mail from Eyetech and they said it would cost $200 to ship the SD/FF!!!!  I live in the continental US so I don't see how this could be...  Anyone have a good explination?

J-Golden

PS- here's the e-mail they sent...

Dear Mr. Fulcher,

Unfortunately we are unable to complete your order for ADPT-VGA-INFF2, as it would cost in excess of 200 US dollars to ship.

Thankyou for for interest and support

Huh. A couple years ago I ordered some mouse and keyboard adaptors plus a flickerfixer (don't know if its same as yours, mine was an internal A1200/A4000 model) and it was shipped fine. I don't recall the shipment price I had to pay, but I wouldn't have done it if it was $200, and I've got the gizmos to prove that the transaction completed. And I live in USA near Washington DC and Baltimore. (shrug)

Jesus!  I got a Power Tower and various accessories ship to me in Louisiana from the UK for 40 quid.

That must just be a polite way of saying "we don't do business with Yanks".   ;-)

Someone else must sell them surely?

I looked at getting their "free pay shipping" tower from their website - $200 shipping as well to my house.  C'mon!  I've shipped lots of things overseas that were quite heavy and it didn't come anywhere close.

Maybe eyetech are a shipping company as well, the extra charges for handling fees such as boxing the items up and taking them to the post office. It can be very pricey these days with the cost of gas going up.  :lol:

Just got a reply E-mail From Eyetech abo. the $200 shipping.  It basiclly said that it was a mistake and that shipping was 15 UKP.

I wonder if They saw this post and it's replies??? ;)  POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!

Total price is still JUST under $200 USD, but it'll be worth it to get off of the 2 monitor system.

Now I just need to find somepne who wants this Native friendly monitor....

@J-Golden

or maybe only a "futile" excuse, because they haven't it no more in stock :-D

The only way to know the truth is . . . to buy one.

@Darrin

let we know :-)

OK, I've ordered one myself.  I got the old "we can't calculate your shipping cost and will send you an email with the information" type message and now I'm just waiting to OK the $200... I mean 15 quid.

I'll let you all know how my experience goes.

(Actually, I've ordered stuff from Eyetech before and received excellent service including helpfull advice on products, but that was a long time ago.  I hope it's still the same.)
