Amiga 3000 Won't Boot, No Video
« on: September 17, 2005, 04:05:25 PM »
Hello!

I have had an Amiga 3000 for a while now that when I last checked it it was working. I swapped some of the chips for newer revisions and powered it on, and I got a video sync light on my VGA monitor but no video. So, I swapped all of the chips back and I still have the same problem, no video signal, just a green sync light on my monitor. This is troublesome since the machine was working.

I've checked and seated all of the chips, etc, and the Battery is removed. I have a Floppy and a SCSI drive plugged in.

Any ideas?

did you protect everything from static electricity when you were working on stuff?  a grounding stap should always be used. you might want to double check the chips orientation and reseat them and try again
Oh yeah?!?
Well your stupid bit is set,
and its read only!

Did you plug the daughterboard back in? The Amiga won't work without it.

I was grounded, and yes, I had the daughter board in. Thanks!

and because this is something I've done before...

Does the daughtercard have it's piece of plastic behind it?  If not, the card *could* touch bare metal and nothing works right then :)
