Starting to dislike power flyers
« on: June 15, 2005, 05:00:57 PM »
Ever since i bought the power flyer a few year back ive had problem after problem with them and infact someone even told me not to buy one lol.But yeah anyways though its the whole update thats starting to annoy me because i place the new softwate inplace over 6.1 i think and then the rest of my partitions apart from the main three all vanish.I have no idea what so ever why this is happening so if anyone else has had a similar problem?
Cheers

I had a similar problem where all of my partitions on my secondary drive would intermitently disappear. I tried newer drivers, re-installs etc etc and eventually found it to be the disk itself. Oddly enough the same drive works fine on my pc.

This usually happens if the newer version does not recognize the preferences of the previously installed one or if the new version is not 100% compatible with the one you were using. If you're using no split mode and after installing the new version you're running on split mode or viceversa, your partitions will vanish, just change the prefs, if this does not fix your problem contact elbox... I had a problem like this, the version they sent me FORCED the split mode however I've always used no split mode, I complained and they sent me an 'unreleased" version fixing this BUG.

There's my 2 cents...

Ok i wil ltry that out but one i was wondering was if my HD is in split mode does that mean my zip drive should also be in split?
Just i didnt think so so i changed the zip to no split but each time i save and check back again it jsut goes back to split.
Well i just installed the latest software once again and yeah its only listing up three partitions. With the new software i see there is no split option for the zip drive and yes my Hadr drive is in split mode.Im so confused i mean what does it take to get a zip drive running and to update your software?
Cheers

Well even though my partitions dont show up on screen they are still split as drives in Hd tool box.so when i click on it it tells me they are not installed and doing so may destroy any data if it is installed for another os or computer. So why do they show up fine on the old software but not on the new one?
I would just install if there wasnt software on them and i have no way of backing up since my zip isnt working on the amiga.
