Managing different config files, games and kickstarts
« on: June 10, 2005, 09:09:24 AM »
Hi All,
I was wondering if there is an "easier" way to deal with loading and compatibility of different games (adf games). Let me give you an example:

The other day I loaded up a game (can't remember its name) and it didn't run. So, I thought, it maybe because of my hardware settings in WinUAE, so I changed (lowered the specs to match the year that the game was released) and it worked.

All I am saying is I wish WinUAE somehow could "detect" the best possible hardware settings for a give game.

Your insights and help are greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
CodeHunter

Just create several config files in UAE. I even think you can download config files on Back2Roots, or at least see how the settings should be set for the games they have listed.

I doubt it will be near impossible to create a proggy that will check which hardware config that is the best for a given ADF file.

I like Amiga Classix Vol. 4 interface, it simple gets the job done, you choose the name of a given game on simple, intuitive interface and boom! The best $19.99 that I have ever spent!
