So if MAI logic are gone, does this mean the AmigaONE will no longer be produced?

I'm sure they'd port OS4 to other, similar, hardware.

Dunno, there's too many unknowns to figure it all out.

.. *If* MAI are gone and if  their assets are auctioned, then maybe Eyetech could buy the Articia design..or relicense it from whoever buys them.

.. Maybe Eyetech could switch to the Marvel chip? (or any others that are suitable)

.. Maybe they'll just buy and rebadge the Pegasos.

.. Maybe they'll just give up on what's left of this fractured and tired community?
On schedule, and suing

Makes sense.  I mean, really, an AmigaOne was really only just a 3rd party board that AI (or now KMOS?) gave it's blessing to.  If MAI folded (still unknown) all that would need to be done is for a new board to be chosen, some small business deal hammered out, and Hyperion to write drivers for it.

Doesn't seem like the end of the world.  Certainly not great news, but nowhere near the worst news that has befallen Amiga.  It's my hope that they'll find a board that is a little more competative and up-to-date, and a little less quirky and obscure.  (Hey a guy can dream, right?)

There's a problem with that - whens the last time you heard the words "Amiga Inc" and "small business deal hammered out" in the same sentence?

The only way is with the words "are completely incapable of getting a" in the middle :-D

I think anyone who wanted an A1 at this point (the micro or the full-size) is totally hosed.

Yet more proof that hardware is just a commodity and software is what matters.  Screw MIA.  If Hyperion's HAL is as good as they say it is, MIA doesn't matter.

MIA just made the northbridge, anyway.  New PPC processors have that logic built-in.

I wish Amigans would get over the whole concept of technical supiriority and just use what hardware is available.  Ignoring marketting constraints and {bleep}ing that Intel, AMD, or whatever, is not good enough only prevents hundreds of thousands of people like me from buying new software.

Mai designed and produced the whole motherboard, not just the northbridge.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Pegasos, now you all know why I offered. I couldnt say that Mai was
about to go down, but its public now. Its to badAmiga Inc. didnt reply
back to my offer. They could have saved $15,000
