Apple HDs in an Amiga?

Hi -

I've got two spiffy 1.2 and 2.0 gig Apple 50pin
SCSI drives that I'd like to use in my Amiga.  Neither
one has SCSI ID jumpers, however.  Is there some trick to
use one if these drives in my Amiga?

Hello,

It's been years since I but a SCSI HDD into a Mac Classic but if I remember correctly the Mac always required the SCSI ID to be 6, you could therefore assume that the Drives are internally strapped as SCSI ID 6.

They should work on an A2091 Controller card with no problem.

If you can send the Manufacturer and Model Numbers of the Drives we might be able to provide more information.

If it has no jumpers then they are both wired to SCSI ID 0.  You'll need to find a jumper to change the ID of one of them if you plan on using both of them on the same machine at the same time.

They have jumpers. They are small and near the center on the bottom of the drive I bet. I used Apple drives in my A3000 a lot.

apple hard disk drives are same as other scsi drives. the only differences are minos additions to the firmware so that mac os can handle it the best way. you can use these drives as they were standard scsi drives. recently i used apple 800mb drive in a1200 (ata) and 2gb scsi apple drive as boot device for my widozed-pc...
