HD problem on 3.9
« on: March 30, 2005, 03:37:29 PM »
Hello,

I connected a 120M 2.5" HD to my 4000T. The HD is from an A600 and I wanted to exchange files. If I boot the 4000T with WB 3.1, all is ok.
Strangely, after the load of the 0s 3.9 "ROM-update" the device becomes invisible. It does not appear anymore in the list of boot device in the early-startup menu & it is considered an unsupported device by HDtoolbox.
I guess it is the v43 SCSI.device which is responsible, but why?
For my purposes there was no problem in doing the job with OS 3.1, but I am just curious about the incompatibilities of OS3.9.
Anyone knows?

I can't answer your question other than to say I've
found other incompatabilities with OS 3.9.
I would guess if you boot in OS 3.1 and set the 2.5
drive to be non-bootable then OS 3.9 might see it.
I finally went back to OS 3.1 on my A2000 because of
the warm-boot problem.
On my A3000 I have an external SCSI drive box and under
OS 3.1 I could turn it on or off whenever I needed it.
Under OS 3.9 I can't do that anymore. If its not turned
on at cold-boot then it WILL not mount.
