A2000 + RF 520
« on: March 23, 2005, 11:38:42 AM »
I have a strange problem:
I have a RF520 modulator. It works fine with A500 and A1000.
When i plug it to my A2000, i cant get anything out.
I did also test the A2000 rgb port by connecting Philips
CM8833 monitor. Works fine.
Can anybody assist me? Dont know what to do or what to check.

Thanks for the information.
Is that something that can be replaced easily.
And is it bad if i dont fix it? Will it make further damage?
Thanks.

If you've got one of the motherboards with the fuse, it's a simple repair, IF you can solder. The thing is soldered onto the motherboard, and looks like a small resistor with no color bands. Like I said, I can't give you the exact spot without my manuals.  If your motherboard is older, it could mean the trace feeding the port melted. I have seen that happen too. In that case, I'd recommend putting in a fuse just bypassing the open trace. If you don't fix it, it's no big deal, it just means you won't be able to use the 520 or an external genlock.
