Invisible Lacie Firewire CDRW Problem
« on: March 02, 2003, 11:54:02 AM »
Mac computer running OS 9.2.2 doesn’t register the (external) Lacie Fire Wire CDRW 16x10x40x. Using Toast Lite 5.0.2 L software. The CD draw will open and close but I can’t read from a CD ROM. It makes the usual noise when switched on as if the mechanism is working.:-?

When a blank CD ROM is inserted in the drive the usual options to launch Toast or format the CDR do not occur. The drive has it’s own power source so the I doubt there is a lack of power.  Could it be a software problem?

System stats

Power Mac G4 450 MHz (blue front and silver sides)
20 Gb HD (Split into two partitions for OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.2)
640 Mb Memory
DVD ROM (internal)
Zip 100 (internal)

I tried Knowledge base at Apple but all the results I got where about incomatability with OS X, and when I tried to post a question I got an error message. Yes I was logged in.

A couple of weeks ago everything was working.
Thanks in advance for any help?:-(
