Getting started with A1200 and HDD?
« on: March 07, 2005, 08:16:43 PM »
Ages back i managed to get hold of an Amiga A1200 for nothing and got a 60mb hard disc from my mates' A600 which he no longer uses. I'm just wondering about getting the A1200 setup again and getting workbench and games etc running. I also want to set up the internet on it.

I already have a 100mbit full-duplex network running around the house (project photos on my website http://www.roodbwoy.com/photos/ if you're interested) with a 24/7 server [roodbwoy.com] and xbox, ps2 and several pcs all using a router-ed internet connection. I want to add the A1200 into the equation now and i have a few PCMCIA network cards floating about. I take it i can use these to get the connectivity? The only thing is, i'm fairly clueless when it comes to workbench (and my copy has corrupted) so i need some help sourcing seom kind of freeware software to get it all running. Anyone have any time to help me?

Any links to tutorials etc would be massively helpful :)

We sell the AmigaOS 3.1 disks to load Workbench onto your hard disk drive.

We also sell the PCMCIA network cards with a tutorial to get online etc.
