Introducing Kimpa...
« on: January 29, 2005, 11:44:33 AM »
Hey dudes!

I'm a 27 year old Amiga nostalgic from Sweden snooping around this great community.

Like a lot of Amigans I started out on the A500 and my first few games were Super Cars 2, Jumpin' Jackson and Blood Money. All excellent stuff which were about to get me hooked in the Amiga-swamp for years.

Oh well, gaming was only the beginning as the Amiga was more of a creative machine for me. I've spend countless hours paiting and animating with Deluxe Paint IV and when I got hold of 3Mb RAM in the early 90s it made the resources to seem endless.

I often combined my own animations, pictures, samples and protracker modules using various CLI commands in the startup-sequence of disks. This way I was able to create "demos" without knowing how to code. ;)

Later on, in 1995 or so, I got myself an A1200 which I expanded with a Blizzard 1260, 16Mb, PCMCIA CD-ROM and a MultiSync monitor. I've spent tons of time jazzing up my workbench with various patches and icons, to make it as optimized to AGA as possible. Pretty pointless I guess, but it's fun and a great challenge.

I mostly used my A1200, which is still here beside me on the desk btw, to animate and develop websites until I got my first PC around year 2000.

Cheers!  :-)

Nice surprise to see more Swedes around here.  8-)

@Karlos: Yes, they're mine. Unfortunately the C64 one doesn't work with Amiga browsers... I really should fix that.  :-P

Welcome Kim!

Some time ago I got a C64 & a 1541 drive. I built the XE1541 cable, but failed to use it with XP... :-( So I found your site, which is an oasis for those seeking info about C64! :-D

A quick search on your recent posts about this subject returned some useful results, that I'll have to test it myself when I get some spare time.

Thanks again for mantaining such a great site. :pint:
