I dug something up!
« on: January 18, 2005, 04:59:49 AM »
I dug something up recently, its an old song that I wrote in OctaMED when I was 17 on my A500.  I kinda made it sound better using Soundstudio later but I all but forgot about it.  It's a weird song.. remember I was only 17 and pretty new to trackers.  I made an MP3 out of it if you care to download and have a listen.  I used WinUAE to play it and sampled it with sound forge.  I didn't have an easy way to sample directly from my 1200

Anyway if you care it's here:

You've made an 6.5 meg MP3 out of a MOD!?!?! :-D

Anyway, the song has a cool retro-sound to it. :-)

Thanks whabang, It probably sounds retro because all of the instruments were sampled from a Yamaha DSR1000 4-op FM synth, plus yamaha's 80s style drums hehe.

Be careful. You might inspire me to dig up some of my stuff.

And you wouldn't want that...

 :bump:

Ok I added another song, and this time it is a MED module so it is much smaller (210 K)

The song is called Corridor.  If you liked the other song, then good, if not this one is different so try it anyway :-)  I made the song in 1998 on my A1200.  I hope you all like it!

@ graffias79

That first one is soo mellow! Cheered me up quite a bit after having dealt with what was on another thread! Cheers for that :-)

I'll listen to the other one as soon as I get around to it :-D

@ Karlos

So long as its mellow I'll happily listen to anything you've written, atm I feel the need for copious amounts of mellowness ;-)

--edit--

I attempted to listen to the new track, but for reasons best known only to the mystery that is the Be Filing System, it incorrectly set it up as an mp3, which was very odd, as the two dozen or so other mods, mids and so forth that I've pulled from all over the shop work fine... Any chance of you converting it to mp3? Damnit but I'm curious about it now heh

@the_leander

Yes one of them is an mp3 but I will be replacing it with the original mod soon, as well as adding some more.

I'm glad you liked my song :-)

Nonono, you miss understand, they BOTH get recognised as MP3's even though one is clearly a med file. I was hoping that you could supply an actual MP3 for the second one you put up as I cannot get it to play with anything I have here whilst its being mis identified.

@ Karlos

Whoa, and I do mean whoa, that is some serious chill out music. The first one I downloaded, Hegria for reasons best known only to the deepist depths of my (slightly deranged) mind was of an animation done by pencil (life like, but you can see each frames lines change) of a girl walking through a city centre, I don't know what it came from (hell it might even be original in which case its copyrighted ;-)) or why it came, but it was as intense a reaction to a piece of music as I've ever had. :-o

The second one was equally mellow, but didn't bring the impact that the first did. :-D

Thanks mate, its music like that that keeps me from going quite mad, and you know how far you've gone when the dancing potatos start to tell you to kill people  :lol:

@the_leander

Thanks. I'm glad you liked them :-)

I just uploaded another, but it isn't quite as 'mellow', I guess - slightly brighter and a bit more uptempo.

@graffias

Man, that is what I call retro mod style. Nice :-D
