digital cameras

I don't know if this is a good forum to be asking digital camera questions, so if not, any suggestions for a better forum to ask in would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of getting a digital camera, most likely in the sub-£100 range, though for something significantly better I'd probably go over the £100 mark. I currently have a Kodak DC3400, and I would like to be able to use the 256MB compactflash stick I bought for that in the new camera if possible.

My father bought a Minolta Dimage Z1 last year, 3 megapixel camera, 10x optical zoom. Beautiful camera. It just has a bit of a plasticy feeling to it. Dunno how much it was though (prolly not very cheap) nor what kind of memory cards it swallows.

The Canon Powershot A75 is a cracking camera, currently up for £129.97 at Ebuyer. AFAIK some people don't like ebuyer (no experience here myself) but you can get it at other places e.g. £144.95 at Cameras2U (recommended) or £141.70 at Amazon (well known). A bit over the £100 but 3x optical zoom, shooting modes from full auto right through to full manual including manual focus... etc. etc. and takes CompactFlash cards.
