So what's up with Aminet?

Is there really not *anything* being uploaded anymore or is there something wrong with the whole system?

I looked around on the web and on amiga.org but can't find anything on this...

Would be a shame to let it go, demos and games are well covered by other sites, but finding the latest tools is a pain now... :/

One of the Aminet sites went down in a mjaor way - they're putting everything back online slowly, but it's gonna take some amount of time.

They're not updating it until it's all back up again.

I think it has to do with the failure of the wuarchive.wustl.edu machine where the main mirror is located. With that one not working properly, it seems like the file distribution has stalled. I wouldn't be surprised if there are loads of files in several mirrors upload directories, just waiting to be checked and distributed.

Still, I'm getting a bit worried, the last update on this was a few weeks ago, and nothing seems to be happening.

Is there anyone in contact with the aminet or wuarchive admins? And does anyone know how the 'review system' works anyway?

FWIW, there is indeed a fair amount of stuff uploaded at main.aminet.net (de.aminet.net AFAIK), but that seems to be it, uploading doesn't seem possible at most of the other mirrors.
