An Observation

I have noticed the following applies to Amiga as it does with Apple and IBM/Intel:

When you are assembling a system to meet your wants and needs you have the following choices... Fast, Good, Cheap; pick two. This is a technologial law that remains constant where no matter how hard you try you cannot have it all.

Sounds good to me. I'd hate to have fast and expensive.

Good is such a subjective term... as long as it lasts until the next upgrade :-D

It is a general rule that you can have either quality or quantity, not both. High quality makes parts expensive, high quantity makes them cheap.

"Fast" and "good" are both terms of quality, so "fast and bad" or "slow and good" aren't choices. (What is "good" if it is not fast ?)

Take a mother board with a fast FSB, integrated sound, and video selling at a cheap price. But the board crashes often or over heats easily, or the video is low res or the sound is tinny and distorted. Hence, Fast, Cheap, but no Good.

Take the A1 it is fast, good, but it sure ain't cheap.

Hmmm...I'll have to disagree. A year ago my wife and I bought a Sony Vaio tower that's fast, was pretty cheap for what we got, and is good.

Note that I didn't say "great." :-)  [Why else would I be posting this with my AMIGA 4000?!?  8-)  ]
