Getting software on my A1000
« on: January 07, 2005, 05:22:01 PM »
Guys,

I recently discovered a way to connect my A1000 to my Macintosh LC. My Macintosh LC has access to the internet as well as a PC with HFV explorer.

My question, or rather questions are:
How do I get a copy of Lha to my A1000? Even if I transfer it over.. how do I unzip it? - Workbench 1.3, if I remember correctly does not have Lha. Is there a way I can unzip it on my Mac?? then transfer it over??

"Um... I think my computer let out the blue smoke! What should I do?!?!?"

I don't have experience with Mac LC, but my OSX system has stuffit expander program.  I believe it unpacks lha files.  Maybe there is a stuffit program that works on your LC?

If you could unpack lha on the Mac, and you already are communicating between the two, copy lha to your c: directory on the Amiga.

I believe winzip will also unpack lha files.  The long way would be unpack it on the pc with winzip.  Email the unpacked version to yourself.  Pick up the email with the Mac and pass it to the Amiga.

Can you share details on connecting the Amiga to the LC?

@AmigaFreak:

Here you can download the good old Lha which is self extracting and works on AmigaOS 1.2 and up.
