I would guess that they say not to use it on a CPU as it probably doesn't have as good thermal properties as their other products. But remember, they are referring to 3GHz Pentium4s and AthlonXPs now, they aren't expecting people to want to glue a heatsink to such an old old old old slow slow slow CPU like your 68030. Yours won't make nearly as much heat as a modern northbridge chip, and I don' think there's any reason to not use it on your chip. I've got some and have been thinking of putting a bigger heatsink on my 060 for a while. I also just picked up a CSPPC card that I might put bigger heatsinks on, though if I play with the PPC heatsink that may be where I'd start using paste instead of epoxy. For my AmigaOne, I'd be much more inclined to take their advice and not use the epoxy stuff.
