First time Mediator + Voodoo !! How do I activate the screen ?

To make a long story short, I have just installed a Mediator from the year 2000 (with 4 pci slots) in an Elbox tower and to have some speed a Blizz 160/040 with 64 Mb. Doesn´t sound so bad eh ? I have installed everything from the CDrom that came with the Mediator, no read or write errors on CDrom. Everything looks okay, but after a reboot I can not see anything in Screenmodes that has been added since I installed the Mediator software. The Voodoo3 card does not give any display. Card dead ? Is possible, but to sort that option out I have tried another Voodoo3 card but with the same result, or in better words with NO result. The OS is 3.9 without additional patches of any kind. There is an easy looking IDE controller to the 2,5" port connected and that to a 3,5" drive and a normal CDrom. No other pci is connected yet ...

What clue am I missing What have I forgotten Please shine a little bit of light in my dark room !!!!  :-o

You need to install the picasso96 (os 3.9 cd-rom) and choose Cybervision3D board, configure it and rename it to voodoo (devs/dosdrivers). Now open the devs/monitors/voodoo clicking the icon. The voodoo card now is actuvated for test it

You should also make sure that in picasso96mode the screenmodes are attached to your voodoo3 board.

This was supposed to be a piece of cake and instead it turned out to be a major headache  :pissed:
I finally decided to erase the whole OS3.9 partition and start allover again, clean install of OS3.9 and when that is done the suggestions you guys have given me, to install P96 and so on  :-) I really wouldn´t know what to do without you guys  :lol:

1st Install P96 and select CV64/3D as the card.

2nd Rename the Devs:monitors/cv3d (not sure about the name) to voodoo.

3rd Rightclick on above mentioned icon and under BOARDTYPE= type voodoo

4th Attach PicassoMode to the voodoo card and setup screenmodes for your monitor (Voodoo cards doesn't like "interlaced" so don't use it).

One last question : how can you use two monitors I know Cybergrafics V4 can do that but have no experience with Picasso96 ...

Now this is for a future installation that I also need to do, do you have to do the same for installation of a Voodoo in a Prometheus And does the Prometheus work with more than one gfx card This is really new to me ...

P96 have a card selection named "Prometheus"... from what I understand Prommy will support Voodoo3 and Phermidia2 cards.

So the instlalasion is a bit easier...

Install Prommy software, Install prommy uppdate, Install P96 and then PicassoMode just like with Mediator..
