Avatar Sizes

Is there any way that these could be made a little bit bigger, as I feel that 90 x 90 is a bit too small. Maybe 120 x 120 would be better.

It's not the size that's important.... It's what you do with it that counts

How many times is everyone going to ask the same question, about the same subject, and get the same answer?  It isn't going to change.

Answer: no.

You'll just have to be creative with the space you're given.

100 x 100 wouldn't do that much harm, Wayne. Surely 10 pixels by 10 pixels more to the avatar space isn't asking too much???

Hm.. Maybe, but I'm sure somebody can make a nice calculation about how much extra bandwith thread is going to generate if an avatar is 100 pixels bigger in size not considering the colordepth.

Anyway, if it helps keeping this site online, drop the avatars completly. That should help bringing the cost down :-)

Naa you don't have to do that, just keep them at 90x90 it is fine.

To free up space you can just remove a load of old posts, posts over a year old perhaps.

not considering the colordepth.

I suggest we should reduce the amount of colours used in avatars to 32 colors, I mean, if it was revolutionary back in those glorious days, it must be at least sufficient today :-D

No. 90 x 90 is fine.  It works, and it will not change.  I will however be more than happy to remove avatars altogether (which I mentioned in the other thread) if that would resolve this issue once and for all  :)
